August 15-19 (9.30am-12.30pm)
Recommended for: Children age 5-9. Beginners: No previous musical experience required.
Instructors: Holly Duff and Ross Curran
Combining music, movement, drama, and speech in the ‘Orff Approach’ to music education, this class seeks to incorporate learning music into a child's natural world of play. For children at the beginning grades of elementary school, this class introduces basic music fundamentals and instruments through musical games and activities, imaginative storytelling and movement. An ‘instrument of the day’ gives kids an up-close-and personal experience of instruments they may like to learn.
Children should bring a drink and snacks and dress appropriately to get messy.
