In this exciting new vocal intensive, participants will study, stage, and perform Puccini’s timeless one-act opera Suor Angelica and other staged opera scenes. Guided by the experienced VSOSoM vocal faculty and specialist workshop and masterclass artists, students will develop vocal technique, stagecraft, movement, and ensemble skills while working towards two performances in the acoustically-excellent Pyatt Hall on the final Sunday. All students can attend the workshops Alexander Technique for Singers with Gabriella Minnes Brandes and Acting for Singers - Finding your action in the music with Sarah Pelzer. Participants can choose to be a chorus member, or audition for a principal role. All involved will experience the thrill of being part of an opera.
Only those seeking a principal role need to audition. Upload your audition video by July 1 (click here for instructions) or contact us to book an in-person placement hearing, to be held between 4-7pm on June 24, 2017.
Minimum enrollment required.
