Bring your young family together to celebrate music this Family Day weekend at the VSO School of Music with a FREE and FUN event.
Join us for an exciting Orff Workshop, led by Orff specialist Bahareh Ameri where we will explore the rich traditions of Norouz, the Persian New Year, through music, movement, and play. This workshop is open to all children aged 2-6 and families who love music, offering a vibrant opportunity to experience Iranian rhythms and melodies while engaging in fun games that celebrate the spirit of Norouz. Educators and Teachers are welcome too! Using the Orff approach, we’ll explore improvisation, play instruments, and incorporate creative movement, bringing this ancient holiday to life.
We have two sessions to accommodate different age groups:
- 9:30–10:30 am: For children 2-3 years, focusing on sensory exploration and interactive activities
- 10:40–11:40 am: For children aged 4–6, where families and teachers can observe how materials and songs are adapted for this age group
