Alice Wong
IN-PERSON LESSONS
With over 20 years of expertise in Early Childhood Music Education, Alice Wong specializes in nurturing young musicians through play-based, interactive learning. Originally from Wales—where she began her own journey as a pianist—Alice’s teaching philosophy is rooted in “discovery through doing,” emphasizing kinaesthetic, whole-body engagement.
Alice holds certifications in classical singing and piano, alongside advanced training in the Orff-Schulwerk approach and ongoing studies in Kodály and Dalcroze pedagogies. During her decades-long career in Hong Kong, she became a pillar of the music community, serving as a music co-ordinator, curriculum planner, lead educator, and teacher trainer. She played a pivotal role in developing foundational programs for Infants, Toddlers & Twos (ITT) and Braemar Hill Nursery School (BHNS), focusing on developmental milestones through embodied music and sound exploration.
Now a key member of the Mini Music Makers team at the VSO School of Music, Alice remains dedicated to making music joyful, accessible, and movement-rich. Outside the classroom, she is a mother of two, a passionate puzzler, and a lover of fine food and great coffee!
