Cam Henderson

Cam Henderson is a sought-after trombonist, arranger, and educator hailing from Victoria BC, Canada. Cam holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Capilano University and a Master’s degree in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas, where he was a member of the esteemed One O’Clock Lab Band. Cam has been a top call trombonist in Vancouver’s jazz, commercial, and latin music scenes for a number of years.
Cam loves working with local composers, arrangers, and bandleaders to help bring their music to life. He has had the opportunity to play with many accomplished artists and groups across the Vancouver music scene, including the Vancouver Jazz Orchestra, Jill Townsend Big Band, Vancouver Legacy Jazz Orchestra, John Korsrud’s Hard Rubber Orchestra, the Wasakaka All Stars latin band, Frankie Hidalgo’s MVP’s, and the Thomas Houlden 11-tet. He can also be heard on two releases by the Jaelem Bhate Jazz Orchestra, “On The Edge” (2019) and “Carmen” (2020) and on recordings by Will Clements, Sadé Awele, and Josh Ramsay.
Cam held the Jazz Trombone Studio TA position during his time at UNT, where he led the award winning U-Tubes Jazz Trombone Ensemble. Under his direction, the U-Tubes performed at the 2023 TMEA Conference in San Antonio TX, the 2024 International Trombone Festival in Fort Worth TX, and put on concerts featuring jazz trombone greats such as Michael Dease, Andre Hayward, and Steve Davis. Cam continues to teach private music lessons to brass students in Vancouver.
