Elisabeta Podut

Elisabeta Podut was born in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She began her musical studies at the School of Music “Sigismund Toduta” with Zsuzsanna Adorjan Agoston. The rigorous training program of the school combined with the passion of her teachers gave Elisabeta not only the discipline required for a successful musical career, but also a lifelong love for music. She continued her studies at Gheorghe Dima Music Academy where she obtained her BA in Piano Performance and Music Pedagogy, and her Master’s Degree in Music; her specialised studies include the interaction between music, sociology and psychology. Teachers such as Dr. Nina Panieva Sebesi, Gyorgy Halmos and Dr. Ede Terenyi ultimately inspired her to choose a rewarding career as a teacher.
Elisabeta immigrated to Canada in 1995 and has worked as a piano accompanist with reputable artists and teachers at Richmond Academy of Dance, Main Dance, Danish Choir and has also adjudicated for National Professional Music Teachers Association Festivals. Elisabeta began teaching Private Piano and Theory at Shadbolt centre for the Arts in 1995 and since 1999 she has dedicated herself to full-time teaching.
Her students range from young beginners to mature adults. Elisabeta’s teaching experience of over 30 years is reflected in her students’ high achievements at festivals and exams; she is committed to inspire and instil the love and joy for music in each of her students.
