Jonathan Crow
International Young Artists Festival Guest
Violinist Jonathan Crow is internationally recognized as a soloist, chamber musician, and pedagogue. A former Concertmaster of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal—becoming the youngest concertmaster of a major North American orchestra—he continues to appear as guest concertmaster with leading ensembles worldwide and as soloist with all major Canadian orchestras under renowned conductors. He has held professorships at McGill University and is currently Associate Professor of Violin at the University of Toronto, with students winning prizes at major international competitions and performing with top orchestras across Europe and North America.
Crow is Artistic Director of Toronto Summer Music, a founding member of the JUNO Award–winning New Orford String Quartet, and an avid advocate for contemporary music, having premiered numerous Canadian works. His recordings appear on several major labels, and his performances are frequently broadcast internationally.
