Karin Wang
IN-PERSON LESSONS
Karin Wang is a dedicated piano teacher who strives to provide efficient and enjoyable lessons. She enjoys working with students of all ages and emphasizes fine musicianship and learning through exploration and discovery.
Ms. Karin started learning piano in Taiwan under Yamaha education system and private piano lessons for many years. She was a school choir accompanist for concerts and competitions, and she played at church services. After moving to Vancouver, she continued her studies with Mr. Edward Parker, Mrs. Ellen Silverman, and Dr. Barrie Barrington and graduated with associate degree at piano performance. In addition, she obtained Associate Diplomas in Piano Performance and in Piano Teacher from the Royal Conservatory of Canada. Ms. Karin received numerous awards and scholarships and participated in master classes led by well-respected professionals such as Dr. Robert Silverman, Dr. Corey Hamm, and Eva Solar-Kinderman.
Ms. Karin is an active member and a provincial council of BC Registered Music Teachers’ Association. She is also a registered advanced piano and theory specialist at Royal Conservatory of Music. She formerly joined Douglas College Community Music School and taught there until 2018 and currently is a faculty member at British Columbia Conservatory of Music, where she teaches piano and theory. Ms. Karin holds a bachelor degree in Commerce from University of British Columbia and had worked in venture capital and travel industry before committed to become a full time music educator.
