Kelly Proznick is a conductor, music educator and musician based in the Vancouver area. Her professional practice is focused on nurturing communities that enable connection, artistry and imagination through musical exploration. For the past 15 years Kelly has been teaching and conducting award-winning ensembles at New Westminster Secondary School, where she is also the Department Head for Visual and Performing Art.
Along with her work at New Westminster Secondary, Kelly is coordinator of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music Summer Jazz Workshop, conducts Coastal Sound Music Academy’s adult choir De Coro, is a member of the artistic team for youth musical theatre collective Schools Out Productions and produces small and intimate professional recitals as one of the artistic team of Up Close Recitals. She is a founding member of the BC Choral Mentorship Project created by Carrie Tenant (Vancouver Youth Choir) and led by Dr. Geoffrey Boers and Richard Nace, and has facilitated youth workshops and youth music programs with a variety of organizations including Elektra Women’s Choir and Choir Leoni Men’s Choir.
Kelly is currently completing her Masters of Arts Education at Simon Fraser University, where she is exploring themes of community, identity and belonging.
