Monica Henao Mejia
Born and raised in Medellin, Colombia, Monica Henao Mejia began to sing when she was 8 years old. She was part of the choir through elementary school and sang in ensembles throughout high school. In 2015 she completed her bachelor’s degree in Music (Jazz Voice) at the EAFIT University in Medellin, Colombia.
She has experience working as a music teacher for Kindergarten and elementary school, as a vocal coach, and has also worked as a research assistant exploring music education in different contexts. She works at the VSO School of Music as a theory teacher for the Pathways program and assists with early years classes.
She is a passionate music teacher who always gives her best to her students so they can learn and have as much fun as they can in every class. Currently, she is finishing her MEd degree in Arts Education at Simon Fraser University.
