Ignite your child’s love for music with First Strings – Violin, a fun and engaging group class designed for young beginners. Children learn the fundamentals of violin technique in a playful and supportive environment. The course introduces posture, bow hold, open strings, and early music reading while making music together from the very first lesson.
Students build strong musical foundations through rhythm games, movement, and ensemble playing. Guided by expert instructors, they explore sound production, develop coordination between hands, eyes, and ears, and begin playing short pieces using open strings and simple finger patterns. The program emphasizes joyful learning while building confidence, musical literacy, and the skills needed for long-term success in violin studies.
First Strings follows a progressive curriculum designed to nurture independence and creativity. For the best learning outcomes, students are encouraged to practice at home, and to avoid extended absences.
Participants will need:
- A properly sized violin (typically 1/10, 1/8, or 1/4 depending on arm length)
- A shoulder rest and rosin (if not included with the violin)
- A folder/duotang for music and homework sheets
