Playing a musical instrument is proven to have all kinds of benefits for your physical and mental health, but sometimes over-exertion, repetitive movements and uncorrected posture can lead to pain and injury, and maybe even prevent you from playing!
This workshop, available on a Wednesday or Sunday, is unmissable for the health of musicians of all ages, styles and levels. Included will be discussion and exercises for warming up and to promote postural awareness, movement efficiency, breathing techniques, relaxation and prevention of strains and injuries. Strategies for utilizing performance anxiety as well as an overview of ergonomics for the musician will also be reviewed. The exact content may vary depending on the age of the participants and the instruments represented.
