The VSO School of Music Jazz Institute is an intensive, ensemble-based program for emerging jazz musicians, designed to bridge the gap between formal study and the professional jazz world. Rooted in the jazz tradition, the Institute emphasizes repertoire, ensemble interaction, historical understanding, and professional musicianship within a supportive and inclusive environment.
Inspired by leading jazz education models, the Jazz Institute prepares students for university studies, professional performance, and lifelong engagement with jazz.
Once the groups are rostered, members will be required to pay 35% of the fee to secure their place, and the remaining fees will be paid in monthly instalments.
