Jazz it Up for is an engaging educational program designed for young musicians ages 8–12 who are beginning their journey into jazz. This class introduces core musical concepts through hands-on activities that support foundational learning in rhythm, melody, harmony, listening skills, and ensemble awareness.
Led by respected pedagogue and jazz musician Bill Clark, the class offers a structured yet supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to experiment and develop confidence. With an emphasis on process over perfection, participants learn that mistakes are part of musical growth, and that exploration is essential to developing their own creative voice.
By the end of the program, students will have gained:
