Share the remarkable stories of Prince, The Beatles, Hank Williams, Marvin Gaye, Janet Jackson, Bing Crosby, NWA, Nirvana, The Eagles, Aretha Franklin, Yes, Zeppelin, James Brown, The Who and so much more!
This fun and informative class, led by Jodi Proznick, will survey the evolution of Western popular music from the early 20th century through to the beginning of the 1990’s. We will examine the various influences and exclusions that have shaped the development of different styles of popular music and also consider how musical elements, social movements and technology have shaped popular music through the years.
The course will end with an online celebration of learning on Friday June 26, where YOU get to share your art with the community of learners.
