Does your child have a ukulele laying around, but doesn’t know how to play it? Or maybe they’ve mastered the basics, but want to take this fun instrument to the next stage? Join Teacher Rachel in one of three approachable class levels, to”make friends” with the ukulele, build musicianship skills and connect with each other through music in a supportive, secure environment.
Over 9 weeks, participants will learn to read chord charts and play patterns so they can strum and sing, as well as starting (or strengthening) note reading skills. This is a great opportunity for kids to learn a new skill and make new friends from the comfort of home.
The STUDIO CLASS is for confident players, who have mastered the 5 chords we learn in Meet The Ukulele, who know how to play a C major scale on the ukulele, and can read music notation in C major.
Participants will need:
- A ukulele
- For Meet the Ukulele Class: Hal Leonard Ukulele Method, Ukulele for Kids by Chad Johnson
- For the Studio Class: Essential Elements for Ukulele, Ukulele Book 1 by Marty Gross
