Vocal Arts Academy

The VSO School of Music is proud to introduce the Vocal Arts Academy, a conservatory-style program designed to bridge the gap between private instruction and post-secondary level performance. Ideal for dedicated vocalists seeking a rigorous, supportive environment to prepare for university auditions and professional pathways.

Through a curated blend of music theory, history, and specialized performance coaching, students will gain more than just technical proficiency in private lessons—they will build a thorough foundation in the vocal repertoire, develop a unified artistic voice, and join a vibrant community of like-minded peers.

2 Hour Weekly Group Class

Hour 1: Weekly Performance Class led by expert faculty members Diane King and Maria Jung that gives experienced singers the opportunity to polish their repertoire and performing skills in an enjoyable and supportive masterclass
format that delves into poetry, diction, historical context, and performance techniques.

Hour 2: These Specialized Voice Modules are only available as part of the Vocal Arts Academy Levels and are taught by industry professionals to round out your musical education:

Diction for Singers: Master the nuances of singing in multiple languages
Acting the Song: Develop your stage presence and dramatic storytelling
Musicianship & History: Contextualize your music through studies in eras, stylistic practices, and music theory
