Registration for Summer Camps is now open!
In this unique collaborative workshop with Cinematheque, participants will work alongside filmmakers from the parallel Film Making Workshop for Youth at the Cinematheque to create an original short film, complete with a custom score. This is an online course with the option to join VSO-Cinematheque meetups in person. Over the course of a month, students will collaborate with their cohort under the guidance of a professional composition teacher from the VSO School of Music, while film students help bring the visual component to life. The final project will be screened at a special red-carpet event at The Cinematheque.
It is recommended that students know the fundamentals of a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation, e.g. Ableton, Logic, Reaper) before joining this workshop. The workshop will cover essential topics like leitmotifs, spotting, click tracks, motion in scoring, and more, with dynamic, hands-on learning, demonstrations, and Q&A sessions.
Join this creative collaboration to see your music score come to life on the big screen!
