This an in-person music class, held at the VSO School
This friendly class for 6-8yr olds introduces prospective flutists to the world of fun, play-based music-making with this effervescent instrument. We work with mini starter flutes made specifically for young children (provided). Active listening, movement, musical games, ear training, improvisation, composition, and music theory are included to lay the foundations of becoming a well-rounded musician. Breathing activities, tone games, and finger exercises help develop the skills for a lifelong friendship with the flute!
The Spring term of this class is for students who have completed a term of Meet the Flute, or attended a Meet the Flute camp. Other beginners with some musical experience may be eligible – contact us for more info on whether this class could be a good fit for your child.
NUVO “Toots” (training flute for young children) are provided for the duration of the class!
