In light of the developing global health situation, and in line with directives from the Province, the VSO School of Music facility has temporarily closed. All in-person Spring Break activities are cancelled and Spring term is delayed until at least April 14. We will continue to closely monitor developments during this time, and will provide you with regular updates.
We know you have a lot to think about, manage and rearrange in this challenge that we all face together. It can seem overwhelming, and we want to help. As we get used to social distancing and isolation, it has never been more important for music to connect us and lift our spirits, and with this in mind, we are already offering virtual group classes during spring break:
Meanwhile, many of our instructors are getting ready to teach private lessons remotely, and are making the most of innovative software to provide a quality teaching environment. Stay tuned for more details to come.
We are working hard to turn our existing lessons and classes into engaging online experiences, while also providing new activities designed especially for the remote format. Our freelance art practitioners are developing worksheets and activities to enhance this virtual classroom, and provide you with lots of ideas for at-home and outside fun.
We appreciate your patience and goodwill, and you will have ours, as we all navigate these unprecedented times together. Any fees for activities planned for the time of school closure will be credited to your school account. If you cannot use the school credit and prefer a refund, we will of course provide that for you.
Thank you for choosing the VSO School of Music, as we continue proactively working to serve you and our whole community in new and innovative ways.
