Applications are currently open for woodwind players ONLY. Submit your video audition now to join a chamber ensemble for 24-25!
These are IN-PERSON ensembles, held at the VSO School
The VSO School’s winds and brass chamber program provides a place for musicians to meet new friends, improve on their own instruments, and learn the intricacies of performing with other musicians in a supportive setting. Each winds and brass chamber ensemble will be coached by one of our talented faculty, giving insight and musical guidance as the chamber ensemble becomes more experienced.
We welcome everyone who is 12 years and older with 1+ years of playing experience on any woodwind or brass instrument to submit a video audition.
Students will be placed in a chamber ensemble that will best fit them based on their age, instrument, and experience. There are many variations of chamber ensembles for winds and brass players, so rest assured that there will be a place for you! Variations include, but are not limited to: woodwind quartets, brass quartets, saxophone quartets, reed quintets, trios, and many, many more!
To apply to join a winds and brass chamber ensemble, please make a video recording of yourself playing one short piece, a two-octave scale slurred and a one-octave scale (slur two tongue two articulation.) Click on submit your audition and fill in the online form. You will be contacted after the deadline with details of your placement. For any questions or concerns, please contact Mia Gazley.
