Bramwell Tovey Centre for Music

The Tovey Centre for Music

The Tovey Centre for Music was named in 2019 to honour Maestro Bramwell Tovey and his exceptional commitment to music and music education in our community.

It was made possible through the generosity of:
Ronald Laird Cliff, CM, OBC
Martha Lou Henley, CM

Bramwell Tovey, OC, was the VSO’s longest serving Music Director and the visionary behind the VSO School of Music, becoming its first Artistic Director.

The Tovey Centre for Music encompasses the symphonic programs and activities of the VSO School of Music and serves as a catalyst to deepen, expand, promote and deliver exceptional music education.

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) and VSO School of Music (VSOSoM) are deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved friend, champion for education and key founder of the VSOSoM, Maestro Bramwell Tovey.
