Take your recorder playing and musicality to the next level with these supportive virtual technique workshops, led by Marea Chernoff. Choose the topics you want to focus on, or sign up for all four to get a complete technique workout! Recommended for adults with a basic knowledge of the fingerings on at least one type of recorder (C or F), all voices of recorder are welcome.

|Proper practice techniques are essential and consist of a ‘set of tools’ and knowledge that when applied to your playing routine, will enable you to make the most of your musical experiences.|
|Focus on Tone||Oct 16, 23 & 30|
|Creating our ideal tone can feel frustrating and elusive. In these sessions we will address what tone is and how to practice and achieve the sounds we are aiming for.|
|Focus on Tuning||Nov 13, 20 & 27|
|Playing in tune or having good intonation is a necessary part of musical development, whether playing on our own or in a group. In these sessions we will address what intonation is and how to practice gaining confidence in our pitch.|
|Focus on Double Tonguing|

|Articulation, or tonguing, is a necessary element to making music come alive. A tool for faster articulation on the recorder is “double tonguing”. In these sessions we will address this technique and how best to practice it.|
